Asset valuations & reserves in the public legal record

Held from public indexing.

A factual record of valuations disclosed in public arbitration/court documents, kept out of public search and navigation during active institutional outreach. Provided for diligence and gated review; Afrimintel takes no position on any party or proceeding.

When a mining asset is the subject of an international arbitration or a court proceeding, the public award or judgment often puts on record figures that are otherwise confidential — an independent valuation, the underlying reserves, or deal economics. This is a factual record of what tribunals and courts have published; Afrimintel takes no position on the merits of any proceeding or the conduct of any party. Read live from /api/v1/mineral-disputes.json. Nothing is typed into the HTML; the table renders from the feed.

The legal record is the primary.

Every figure here is ordinarily confidential — a tribunal DCF, a reserve/resource estimate, an offtake or deal term — but it entered the public record through an ICSID / LCIA / ICC award, an enforcement judgment, or a company's own settlement disclosure. An award is a tribunal decision; a settlement figure is a negotiated amount to end a case — not a valuation of the asset. Some rows carry a figure the tribunal cited from a party's own study (e.g. a 2012 PEA) rather than the tribunal's own valuation — those keep that study's grade and vintage and read as "what the tribunal recorded," not an Afrimintel valuation. Each row links to the public primary document. Disputes touching the DRC / Great Lakes are handled data-layer only per Afrimintel's conflict-of-interest rule and are not carried on this surface.

Mineral asset disputes — valuations in the public legal record — rendered at build time from /api/v1/mineral-disputes.json (dataset v2.137.63, as of 2026-08-22). Every figure carries the state, source and date the feed carries. This static table is replaced by the interactive one when scripts run.
