Is: a reproducible tally of documented safeguard instruments + framework alignment, every point traceable to a Sourced source. Is not: (1) an ESG performance / ethics rating — no black-box judgment; absence is shown, not graded as failure. (2) Technical due diligence — we verify & normalise the issuer's technical disclosure to a clean baseline that feeds a DD team's work, we don't perform technical DD or issue the CPR (that's SRK/DMT's domain). (3) Chain-of-custody supply-chain tracing — we surface upstream jurisdiction & counterparty risk (/screening/ + downstream-risk), not physical provenance.
Read this correctly: an unweighted count of domains that carry a documented instrument — domains are not materiality-weighted (a water permit and a climate disclosure count the same, deliberately). "Documented" means a Sourced instrument exists, typically from the operator's or its consultants' own disclosure — not Afrimintel's independent verification that the safeguard is adequate. It is a disclosure-completeness checklist, not a performance score. The count is its breakdown below; reproduce it from the instruments. As-of 23 Jun 2026; re-check on cadence.
