WATCHLIST BULLETIN

28 SIGNALS
DAILY CADENCE
Watchlist Bulletin — 28 Signals Tracked Daily
What this is. Public surface of the Afrimintel monitoring watchlist — ~28 signals across the six jurisdictions, four operating asset case studies, and a macro-geopolitical / supply-security layer. Each signal carries: trigger (what would constitute material change), threshold (what level of change matters for asset-screening), source (where it would first be observed), and most-recent observation (where the signal currently sits as of publication date). Designed for institutional users to inspect what the platform is watching for and why; not designed as predictive analytics.
What this is NOT. Not a real-time data feed. Not a substitute for institutional in-house monitoring. Not exhaustive — the public bulletin is a curated subset of the full watchlist; institutional users may have access to extended monitoring under engagement protocol arrangements. Verified-public-source-only signals; Counterparty Extension applies throughout.
Headline reading at 9 May 2026 publication. Three signals are FLAGGED as material developments in last 30 days: (i) DRC paramilitary mining force announcement 27 April 2026; (ii) US Embassy Kinshasa public denial of paramilitary funding 28-29 April 2026; (iii) Loulo-Gounkoto operational restart late December 2025 with February 2026 permit extension. Six signals are on WATCH through Q2-Q3 2026 calendar. Nineteen signals are ACTIVE baseline monitoring. Next material milestone: Zambia 2026 elections August 2026.
Signal status convention
FLAGGED = material development observed in last 30 days; updated within case-study analyses. WATCH = trigger event scheduled or anticipated within next 90 days; pre-positioned analytical readiness. ACTIVE = baseline monitoring; signal observable through standard sources at standard cadence.

Watchlist refresh cadence
Daily cadence: commodity prices, sovereign-credit-spread movements, asset-level disruption events.
Weekly cadence: operator-disclosure cycles, regulatory announcements, sovereign-political news monitoring.
Monthly cadence: rating-agency cycle, government-policy reviews, jurisdictional-economic indicators.
Quarterly cadence: operator quarterly reports, sovereign credit affirmation cycles, multi-DFI financing-package operational reports.
Event-driven: elections, ICSID arbitrations, settlement events, M23 / Washington Accords developments, paramilitary mining force milestones.
Each signal escalation from ACTIVE to WATCH to FLAGGED triggers updates to the relevant case-study dossier and benchmark spread; downgrades from FLAGGED to WATCH after 30 days require evidence-based justification recorded in the audit log.
What the watchlist does NOT do
- Predict signal trajectory. The watchlist tracks observable signals; it does not predict their evolution.
- Substitute for institutional in-house monitoring. Sophisticated institutional users have proprietary monitoring; the public bulletin is a complement, not a replacement.
- Cover non-platform-scope signals. Currency, equity-market, and broader macro signals are observable elsewhere; the watchlist is mining-and-DFI-mandate-fit focused.
- Provide trade or investment recommendations. Watchlist signals inform screening; investment decisions are institutional-user-and-counsel domain.
