The gate the E&S screen explicitly does not cover. Routes a DFI's own KYC: sponsor and ultimate-beneficial-ownership transparency, a desk-level sanctions/PEP indicator, and SOE-governance exposure where a state co-owns the asset. This layer POINTS the institution's integrity screen — it does not run it. Sanctions/PEP cells are desk indicators from public listing disclosure, never a licensed-database clearance; flags are neutral diligence-routing markers, not allegations.
Flags are structural, not national. Enhanced-diligence markers reflect reduced UBO transparency on delisting, SOE governance, frontier-jurisdiction risk and critical-minerals end-use — not the nationality of any owner. Sanctions cells where no screen was run are marked Absent (explicit non-performance), never a clearance.
The bold screen line on each card is an Afrimintel synthesis (Derived) of the sourced cells beneath it, not a separate datum.
Afrimintel's Editor-in-Chief holds two positions in the Great Lakes region: Honorary Consul of Rwanda in Mauritius, and Chairman of MUA Insurance Rwanda. Neither role involves mining, mineral assets, or any company appearing in this layer, and neither carries any interest in the outcome of any record in it. They are disclosed here because this layer carries records on jurisdictions to which those positions relate, which makes them material to a reader assessing those records. Coverage and treatment of these jurisdictions are on the same terms as every other jurisdiction; the positions constrain who Afrimintel transacts with, not what it publishes. See /methodology/independence/ §7. Independence Policy §7.
